‘Prisons, Probation and Beyond… 2009’ is the fourth in the Prisons and Beyond series of conferences.
This year the event focuses on substance misuse treatment within the National Offender Management Service and is targeted at staff and managers working in probation, prisons, criminal justice integrated teams and the wider criminal justice system. The conference will build on the success of previous ‘Prisons and Beyond’ Conferences but will focus on the opportunities and challenges presented by bringing prisons and probation together.
This year’s conference will include seminars on IDTS, crack cocaine, Improving treatment/order completion rates, housing and employment, enhanced partnership working and planning for recovery.
There will also be the chance to unwind and have fun at the conference dinner, with after dinner speaker and dancing.
The event will offer a chance to:
- Update workers and managers on developments in the substance misuse field and within criminal justice
- Provide learning opportunities on a wide range of practice issues
- Give delegates the opportunity to share good practice
- Consider how to improve work across the criminal justice field
- Provide a networking opportunity for workers and managers
